Comfortable and Practical, But Not a Perfect Sealion 8 Fit I purchased this mattress together with the blackout privacy window set for my BYD Sealion 8. What I really like about the mattress is the fabric. It’s very soft and comfortable to lie directly on, so I don’t feel like I need to put a sheet or cover over it. Setup is also quite easy with a portable electric pump. It does come with a 12V pump, which I definitely recommend using if you don’t already have a batter powered pump, otherwise you’ll be waiting quite a while for it to fully inflate. I also purchased the blackout privacy window covers, and I think they’re the most important complement to this mattress. If you’re planning to sleep overnight in the Sealion 8, or especially during the daytime, I’d consider the privacy set a must-have. Together with the Sealion 8’s camping mode, it makes the whole sleeping setup feel much more complete. The main thing I don’t like is the fit. The mattress isn’t cut perfectly around the wheel arches and boot lip, which gives me the impression that the basic mattress design may be more universal for SUVs rather than specifically tailored to the Sealion 8. There are also two side panels around the wheel arches that I have to tuck underneath the mattress so they don’t get in the way. It’s a little annoying. I asked the seller about cutting them off, but they recommended against it because it could affect the mattress’s air system. So I think describing it as specifically made for the Sealion 8 is a little misleading when it doesn’t follow the shape of the cargo area perfectly. Overall, though, it’s a keeper for me. It’s comfortable, easy to set up with a pump, and paired with the blackout privacy covers, it creates a very practical sleeping setup in the Sealion 8.
